Let
the Teens Talk - Media Madness
Today’s
teens face endless barrage of media from various sources, including television,
movies, radio, the Internet, magazines, electronic games, and advertising.
Advertising slogans shout out at them from billboards, stickers,
and even T-shirts. The sheer volume of media that surround teens is mind-boggling.
So on Friday, November 14th, the Ron
Anderson Recreation Center will be hosting its quarterly 'Let the
Teens Talk' forum to discuss media from 6:00pm-9:00pm. The guest speaker
will be Philip Oliver who is the Male Involvement Coordinator for the
Adolescent Health and Youth Development Program. Teens ages 13 to 17 are
invited to attend. There will be light refreshments and door prizes.
For more information please contact the recreation center staff at (770)
439-3611.

Staff
Notes
Congratulations to Peter Conrady and Johnny Davis
for being recognized at the annual Georgia Recreation & Parks Association
District 5 banquet held at Red Top Mountain State Park. Peter Conrady,
the facility manager for the Central
Aquatics Center, won the 'Al Richardson Athletic Award'. Johnny
Davis, the Western District Operations Maintenance Supervisor, won the
'Outstanding Facilities and Grounds Staff Person of the Year'.
Cobb's Therapeutic Recreational Services unit won the
'Environmental Leadership Award' from Keep Cobb Beautiful. This honor
recognizes the program the TRS staff did for Earth Day. Staff and
