Basketball Academy at Cobb Recreation Centers

Anderson Recreation Center are now offering an
exciting new basketball instructional academy! This
program is for children in grades 1-8. Players will
go through extensive training in ball handling, shooting,
rebounding, and team concepts on offense and defense.
This off-season program will give players the opportunity
to master the fundamentals of the game at their level.
Players will participate in a patient, instructional
environment where the coaches want to see every child
succeed and progress. Hard work and determination are
key values of this program. All players will receive
a practice jersey, shorts, travel bag, headband, wristbands
and water bottle. Fees for this program are $85 per

Walking Age: All Ages
Walk
or run in the gym no matter what the weather, seventeen
times around the gym is one mile. Walkers are welcome
to bring in IPods or walkmans to enjoy music while you
walk to keep you energized during your morning exercise.
Seniors are welcome! Strollers are welcome!

Life Net “Great and Giving Hands Tour” Ages:
8-13
The
Kids life Net T'ween Ministries ‘Great and Giving Hands
Club' is for kids ages 8-13. This dynamic group will
meet twice monthly to plan and execute volunteer activities
that serve the
elderly residents of Powder Springs, the Ron Anderson
Community Center and Wild Horse Creek Park and Cobb
Underage Drinking Taskforce.

Ron
Anderson Ballet, Tap, & Jazz Dance Program
Ages: 3-12
Come
out and enjoy the Ballet Tap and Jazz classes being
offered at the Ron Anderson Recreation Center . Children
from ages 3 to 12 years old can take advantage of learning
different types of dance through this program. Ballet
and tap classes are being offered to ages 3-12 only,
and we will offer ballet, tap and jazz to ages 6-12
years old.

Chess
Wizards
(Strategies
for Life)
Summer
Chess Camp
Let
you children out of the house this summer break with
Chess Wizards; they can play games, make new friends,
and spend all day with us having fun! What to expect:
An array of games and activities
throughout the day led by the most energetic members
of our
staff. Activities include: Chess Lessons, Puzzle,
Wizard Says, Bug House, Mirror, Fisher, Take me, Charades,
Basketball, Soccer, Dodge Ball, and More! Each child
will also receive a Chess Board which all of their
new friends can sign on the last day of camp. In addition,
each child will receive a trophy and the NEW Chess
Wizards T-Shirt, plus a folder containing all of the
puzzle that they completed at camp (Exceptions apply
for some Camps). Lunch is also part of most camps,
but will not be provided. Please ensure
that your child arrives to camp with a lunch, if necessary.
All camps
include snack time and Chess Wizards will be providing
the snacks.
