  • Our New Website!!!!
    The Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs website has be refurbished to provide you with more information regarding our progams and facilities.  This is your new home base for up-to-date information regarding recreational and leisure activities.
  • EZ Reg - Online Registration Coming Soon!!!!
    Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs will offer online registration for many of our programs beginning with the winter quarter.  To take advantage of EZ Reg online registration, you will need a pin number and password.  If you have registered for a program during this year, you probably have already been assigned a number and password.  You should receive an email or letter in the mail soon.  If you have not registered for a program, you can acquire your pin number and password by going to any recreation facility and register your family.  For more information call (770) 528-8800.
  • Lost Mountain Tennis Center named ‘Outstanding Tennis Facility' for 2006 by the United States Tennis Association.  This is a prestigious award that goes to a select few of the thousands of tennis facilities throughout the country.  The official announcement was made during the annual USTA meeting held in New York in conjunction with the US Open.  The award recognizes those facilities based on the overall facilities quality and structure and the facilities programs in promoting tennis and serving the community.  All award winners will be inscribed on a large wall plaque displayed in the lobby of the USTA National Tennis Center, site of the US Open.

  • Public Input Meeting

    A public input meeting for the Leone Hall Price Memorial Park will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd at 6:00pm, at the West Cobb Regional Library located at 1750 Dennis Kemp Lane in Kennesaw . The new park to be located on Stilesboro Road in west Cobb is approximately 80 acres in size. Please come and provide your input to the proposed master plan.

  • New Soccer Complex Under Construction

    The new West Sandtown Soccer Complex is now under construction on Barrett Parkway just south of Macland Road.  Included in the park are five lighted soccer fields, concession/restroom building, walking trail, playground, parking, and maintenance compound.  The complex is scheduled to be open for play for the Fall 2007 season.

  • Sweat Mountain Dog Park to Open Soon

    Cobb County's first off-leash dog park will be opening later this month to dog owners.  The off-leash area is currently under construction in Sweat Mountain Park on Steinhauer Road approximately one mile north of Lassiter High School.  There will be an area for large dogs and an area for smaller dogs weighing 30 lbs or less.  Stay tuned for additional information concerning the upcoming ribbon cutting ceremony for the new park.

  • North Georgia State Fair
    The North Georgia State Fair will be held at Jim Miller Park September 21 - October 1, 2006.  There will be a midway with rides and games, nightly concerts, an arts and crafts show, and more!!!!  For more info, see the North Georgia State Fair website .
  • Prevention in the Park
    Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and WellStar Cancer Program will offer healthy fun and excitement for the entire family via free health screenings, arts and crafts, face painting, sack races, live entertainment and a family movie.  The event will be held October 7, 2006 at the Ward Recreation Center.  Cost is $1 per person or $5 per family, with the proceeds going to charity.  For more information, call 770-528-8885.
  • 6th Annual Fall Festival Full-of-Fun
    Come join the ghosts and goblins at Jim Miller Park on October 31 for safe and kid friendly fun!!!!  Activities include costume contest, relay games, inflatable rides, arts and crafts, petting zoo and more!!!!  The event is free, there is a small fee for the rides, petting zoo and concessions.  The event will be held October 31, 2006 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm.  For information, call 770-528-8875.
