Local
Athlete Receives Golden Eagle Award
Cobb County's own Kelly Kettles received the Golden Eagle
Award for displaying the utmost in sportsmanship during the
2008 Professional Tennis Registry's Tennis Tournament held
at Hilton Head. The award was presented to her by Mr. Dennis
Van Der Meer along with a tennis racquet signed by him. Kelly
was voted for this award by her peers, coaches, volunteers
and sponsors of this event. It was her caring attitude, eagerness
to help other athletes and her enthusiastic personality with
everyone that contributed to this honor. Kelly, an accomplished
Special Olympian, said this award was more important to her
than any medal she has ever received. Congratulations
Kelly for making Cobb proud!!!!
